Fire on the Farm

On Sunday morning we had a fire sweep through field number three on the far side of the stream. This is the same field that the workers trying to protect with a fire break last week. When we were there, the were fifteen days from completing the break. They didn't get fifteen days and the field was completely wiped out.

The hope this morning is that the grass has a deep root system and will grow back in the next rain. If not we will have to replant it.

The fire was started by a local woman burning wood for charcoal. Fanfan says the winds were high and the fire could not be knocked down. This is the second fire in a year on the farm. Fire will remain a constant issue until we can supply all our neighbors with safer fuel source.

Please pray for the workers, the neighbors who lost crops, and those who were injured.
