Making Briquettes

Our kiln in Bernico is making great charcoal. It just doesn't look quite like the charcoal your used too. The torrefication process turn the green elephant grass into a black crumbly mass. It's charcoal, it burns, but it isn't quite as clean and easy to use as the bags of Kingsford you'll find at the supermarket. In order to make our charcoal more portable we want to acquire a briquetter. Once the raw charcoal is pressed into even briquettes it will be much easier to transport.
We initially reached out to a manufacturer in Colombia and were quoted $2,700. But that was in 2014, costs have only risen since then. It will take your donations to make it possible.
